- A coordinator will oversee and schedule people to participate in this ministry.
- You will need teams of about 5-7 people who have volunteered to be absent from approximately one service per month or two.
- One member of each team must be spiritually mature and able to lead the group for a rather lengthy prayer and worship time.

- Read the same Scriptures as a group or individually that are read in the worship service.
- Have a mix of individual and group prayer.
- Spend a portion of the time singing the same songs or hymns that the church is singing in the worship service. However, the main purpose of this ministry is prayer.
- Give special attention to those who have special roles in the service, such as those who are providing special music or preaching.
- The prayer teams could meet in someone’s home as an alternate location.
- Instead of keeping the groups the same, you can mix them up so that people experience praying with a variety of people.
